At Merry Minds Enrichment Centre, children are encouraged to develop strong language foundations while growing into confident, creative and expressive communicators. Through engaging, interactive and age-appropriate lessons, the programmes nurture essential skills in reading, writing, comprehension and speaking.

* Phonics

Build a strong foundation in reading and writing through a progressive phonics programme. Children develop their understanding of letter sounds, blending, word families, digraphs, vowel patterns and more through interactive activities, games, songs, stories and colourful learning materials.


* Reading & Listening Comprehension

Develop stronger understanding and critical thinking through both reading and listening. Children explore different types of texts, build vocabulary, identify key ideas, summarise information, use context clues and practise active listening through storytelling, audio activities, discussions and role-play.


* Creative Writing

Turn ideas into engaging stories and meaningful words. Using mind maps and creative techniques, children learn to brainstorm, structure sentences, organise paragraphs and develop narratives. They are also exposed to different writing styles, including letters, speeches, comics and song lyrics, helping them become confident and expressive writers.


* Speaking

Build confidence and communication skills in a fun and supportive environment. Through role-play, Show and Tell, excursions, discussions and real-life topics, children expand their vocabulary, practise conversations and learn to express their thoughts and opinions clearly. Opportunities to practise on an in-house stage further encourage confident public speaking.
