Quanjude Roast Duck Restaurant (全聚德烤鸭)

Founded in 1864, Quanjude is one of Beijing’s most iconic culinary institutions and the birthplace of the world-famous Peking Duck. With over 150 years of history, the name Quanjude has become synonymous with excellence in traditional Chinese cuisine — especially the art of roasting duck to crispy, golden perfection.

Favored by heads of state, dignitaries, locals, and tourists alike, Quanjude has perfected a unique roasting technique using fruit-tree wood and a doorless oven system, allowing the duck to be cooked evenly while infusing it with a subtle, smoky flavor. The process takes 40 minutes and results in a beautifully crisp skin and tender meat — a true hallmark of Beijing gastronomy.

Today, Quanjude operates 12 branch restaurants across Beijing. Among them, the Qianmen branch remains the oldest and most historically significant, while the Hepingmen branch is the largest and most architecturally splendid.
